Who Am I?
Hello! I’m Claire, an integrative counsellor committed to supporting individuals from all walks of life. I’m registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and hold an enhanced DBS, which ensures a safe experience for my clients. My professional journey has taken me through various environments, where I’ve had the privilege of providing assistance to adults, young people and children facing different challenges.
What Do I Do?
I was involved in bereavement support as a volunteer with the Cruse Bereavement Helpline. There, I’m honoured to have given an ear and offered guidance to those navigating their grief. I’ve also been a volunteer therapist with Wilderness Foundation UK, providing one-to-one counselling in Chatham Green to adults and young people. Additionally, I’ve provided counselling to teenagers at a local secondary school. Now though, I provide individual therapy to adults at a practice based in Southend-on-Sea, alongside running my own private practice where I offer face-to-face counselling in Essex and online counselling throughout the UK.
Counselling, How Did I Get Here?
My journey here was not a straight path. For 15 years, I found myself working in office settings, but I never felt truly fulfilled in that environment. I often yearned for something more meaningful, which eventually led me to take a leap of faith. I immersed myself in psychology and counselling courses, driven by a genuine interest in human development and behaviour. This transformative experience not only provided me with invaluable knowledge but also offered me support during a difficult time in my own life. I’m now passionately dedicated to helping others navigate their struggles and fostering personal growth.
Why Choose Me?
Genuinely, I love helping others! Therefor, I aim to offer all my clients an honest, fair and friendly practice. I believe connection is essential to successful counselling, so work on building that relationship with you from the very first contact by listening to you and learning to see your emotions and experiences from your perspective. Ultimately, I believe that every person has the potential to grow and thrive, and I’ll be here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery. So, if you’re looking for a compassionate and understanding partner in your exploration of personal challenges, I would feel honoured to help!
I understand that my well-being directly impacts my ability to support others. Therefore I prioritise self-care as an essential component of my practice. For instance, consciously taking breaks between sessions to recharge, engaging in monthly professional supervision—which is an ethical requirement for all practicing counsellors—and making time to enjoy simple pleasures, such as exploring nature, diving into a good book, or cherishing moments with my family.
